This will be an abbreviated edition of Eulipion Outpost. I’m feeling the need for a break. Social media voices, email, meetings (both in-person and on Zoom), the changing pandemic situation, have all felt a bit overwhelming this week.
I’ll leave you with two videos. First, PBS’s “Brief but Spectacular” take on Flossie Lewis, who was teaching undergrads in the UC Berkeley English Department when I was a graduate instructor. One of those people one never forgets; an amazing woman and teacher.
Second, five minutes of metta meditation, conducted by Devin Berry, followed by a talk about and contemplation of his life of turmoil and change—and how the experience of Buddhist metta/lovingkindness and meditation has influenced him. From Buddhist Geeks. https://www.buddhistgeeks.org/
“…Great big beautiful flowers.” Devin Berry’s 5 min. meditation and contemplation of his life in “Metta: Not Fade Away”:
Buddhist meditation has been a real anchor for me when things get hectic, and even when they’re not.
Check out Devin Berry’s website.
Until next weekend . . .
And if you have not yet subscribed, please do! It’s free.
Thanks for the FLossie Lewis link!! May we grow old to be like her so I better start learning how to be provocative:-)
