Hi Jean, First time I am writing to you. I've enjoyed your posts. I was wondering if you know about Stephen Vincent's Haptics. Seems similar to yours. Hilton Obenzinger (my husband) and I went to his poetry reading and his haptics are on display.

Hi, Estella: Glad you've enjoyed my posts, and that you are a subscriber! Stephen Vincent is a friend, and we've communicated about the haptics. I have also done haptics and even created a little pdf book about my experience with haptics; maybe at some point, I'll post about them. Stephen's haptic art has been an inspiration.

Good Morning Jean, I am working on a poem called, "STATUE-SPEAK" on what confederate statues speak to people of color. "1.Did you have any problem finding your way here?

2. Are you lost?

3. Why are you here?

4. You are late.

5. You must be confused.

6. You don’t belong here.

7. You are the wrong color – you are not white.....

11. You may not borrow a book...."

You get the idea. Much love, Catie

Great idea, Catie! I'm thinking of the Dewey monument and Fort Funston. Speaking of the latter, there are two sides to reports on Funston's role in the SF 1906 earthquake:

2: Scroll down to "Filipinos in San Francisco," an article written by Filipinos who experienced Funston's "care." http://www.commonwealthcafe.info/editorials-and-essays
