That sounds like a cool edition! I've never read Candide, although I understand that the works of Voltaire influenced the Philippine National hero and martyr Jose Rizal. He wrote Noli mi Tangere and El Filibusterismo, both censored by the Spanish government in the Philippines.

I just finished reading Candide in an edition illustrated by Paul Klee. That was a treat.
